Sit quietly, with your hands on your thighs, right hand on right thigh, left hand on your left thigh, and close your eyes.  Take a couple of deep breathes, and relax.  Now think of a memory, a wonderful memory when you felt happy, joy or love and once you have that memory in your mind, squeeze your right hand.  Now bring in brighter colors to the memory and keep on squeezing your right hand.  Now if there were sounds let them become clearer and more precise and keep on squeezing your right hand.  If there were smells, wonderful smells or even bring in your favorite smells like flowers or a fresh spring rain, squeeze your right hand tighter.  Feel the happiness in your body and let it spread through your entire body and squeeze your right hand even more.  Now release your right hand.  Relax and take a deep breath.  Now think of that memory again, and make it even more fantastic, the feelings of happiness and joy bursting through you and squeeze your right hand.  Make it stronger, even stronger.  Now relax your right hand again.  Take a deep breath and relax.  Now think of that wonderful joyful memory again and experience it in every cell of your being, and squeeze your right hand.  Now relax your hand.

Now go back to a memory with your fear, be aware of where you are feeling it in your body, your thoughts, and squeeze your left hand.  Experience the fear.  Now relax your left hand.  Take a deep breath and relax.  Now bring your fear up once again, feeling it, experiencing it and squeeze your left hand.  Now relax your left hand and relax.  Take a deep breath.  One more time, bring the memory up and tighten your left hand and then relax, release your left hand.

Now bring up the feeling of happiness and joy, the memories attached to it and squeeze the right hand, tighter, more wonderful.  And release your right hand.  Now bring up the fear and squeeze the left hand, and release the left hand.  Once again squeeze your right hand and release.  Then squeeze your left hand and release.  Right hand and release and then your left hand and release.  Now your right hand squeeze and squeeze your left hand and release the left hand only.  Keep squeezing the right hand and squeeze the left hand and release the left hand only.  Squeezing the right hand go back to the memory of your original fear and bring in the happiness and joy.  The fear should be extremely diminished or totally released.
