7 Steps to Self Hypnosis

7 Steps to Self Hypnosis


1.  Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed.


2.  Place yourself in a comfortable position, uncrossing legs and arms.


3.  Take several deep breaths, relaxing as you slowly exhale, breathing in through your nose and exhaling through your mouth.


4.  Set your mental alarm clock: “I am setting my mental alarm clock for 15 minutes (or whatever time you desire).  At the end of that time I automatically take a deep breath and return to full awareness, rested and refreshed.”


5.  Allow your eyes to close.  Focus your awareness on your eyelids and allow them to relax.  Then, take the quality of that relaxation and bring it to the top of your head.  Imagine it as a warm wave of relaxation and send it from the top of your head all the way to the tips of your toes.


6.  Count down from 1 to 10 as you allow yourself to relax more deeply.  Take a moment to create a safe and happy place, preferably a place in the outdoors.  While you are here in your safe place, envision that you have created the change you desire, it is done, completed, and experience happiness, love, pride, or excitement.  Then say silently to yourself, “Every day and in every way, I am happier, healthier, and wealthier.  I am better and better each and every day.”


7.  To bring yourself back to full awareness, count from 5 to 1.  Tell yourself that on the count of 1, you will open your eyes, be fully aware, rested and refreshed, ready to move forward.




I suggest you do this every morning upon rising to start your day in a positive way and every evening before sleeping to help create a peaceful rest.
